Program "Letters of Hope"
"Letters of Hope" program was started in 1997. The idea of the program is to give orphans an opportunity to correspond with children or adults from foreign families by mail.
The program helps children from orphanages to find new friends among foreign kids and adults. It helps orphans to overcome the feeling of loneliness, futility and anger. Hearing about the normal lives of their pen pal's, the children from the orphanages are given hope for a good future, a family and a happy life. The program also stimulates children to study foreign languages and helps them to learn more about the world.
The children and their new friends write letters to each other and exchange gifts and photos.
All participants of the "Pen Pal" program receive their letters translated by workers and the volunteers of HOPE worldwide - Moscow.
