HOPE worldwide in Kiev

The charitable fund HOPE worldwide in Kiev started its work in 1995. The first project of the Fund was a program "Care" - giving material support to poor people. There are current fund's charitable programs:

Program "1+1" The program began in 1995 in the orphanage #12. Most children who have graduated from orphanages turn out to be completely unadapted to real life. They don't know how to pay flat's bills, where to find a job, how to build relationships with other people. The goal of this program is helping orphanage's graduates to feel sure in adult life.

The "Pen Pal" program The program is realized from 1996 in the orphanage #12. In this program kids from orphanages correspond with children and adults from successful families.

The Program "City of Hope" In 1999 the program "City of Hope" started in the special orphanage #12. The goal of this program is to prepare children for their independent life after the graduating from the orphanage, to help them in the development of their creativity and to help them working in collective. The "City of Hope" is like a play the adult life. The orphans work on the City's "enterprises" - "Skillful hands", "The art of cooking", "Bank", "Shop".

The "Happy birthday" Program The program was opened in 1999 in the orphanage #3 for orphans and in the orphanage #5 for blind children. The program consist of entertainment part for kids, sweet food, gifts for children celebrating their birthday and disco for conclusion. That day children become the center of attention, support and party. For some of them the birthday party with gifts, songs is the first one in their life. Now the program is in 5 orphanages in Kiev.

The Program "Old friend's party" The program was established in 1999 in the veteran's home in Kiev. The participants of the program are the veterans of the Second war, people who came through Stalin's repressions and Nazi camps. The goal of the program is saving veterans from loneliness, helping them to feel themselves needed for society, to believe in future and in existence of old good friends who will always support in a hard time. This program also includes organization of celebrating veteran's birthday.

The Program "Graduates' party"The program was put into practice in 1999 once a month. There are meetings between orphanage's graduates and the volunteers of charitable fund HOPE worldwide Kiev.

Milestones

1997 - the organization of a New Year party for 3000 children in orphanages in Kiev in movie theater "Florence" (1000 volunteers participated);

1998 - providing orphanages with medicines in winter epidemic; the organization of the festival "World through kid's look" together with Education Department in Kiev (creative activity of orphans in Kiev);

2000 - the organization of the New Year party for 550 orphans in Kiev together with Young theatre in Kiev;

2001 - the organization of the action "Month of the blood donor" (the volunteers were free blood donors in children's clinical hospital #1 in Kiev and in municipal Center of thermal destruction.
