HOPE worldwide Saint Petersburg

The Charitable Fund HOPE worldwide in Saint Petersburg was registered in December 2000.

The main direction of the work of Charitable Fund HOPE worldwide in Saint Petersburg is helping orphans, children from poor families and supporting pensioners and veterans of World War II.

Now the fund realizes the following charitable programs:

The "Happy birthday" program The "Happy birthday" program is a monthly entertainment program. It is dedicated to orphans' birthdays. Once a month Fund's collaborators and volunteers organize a funny party with gifts for children who have a birthday and food for all kids. The goal of the program is to bring joy and hope into the lives of orphans and children from poor families. The "Happy birthday" program is one of the ways of building friendly relationships between kids and adults for supporting children after graduating from the orphanage, helping kids to overcome loneliness, spite and a feeling of their uselessness.

The program started its work in May 2000 and now it is in 4 orphanages in Saint Petersburg. 200 volunteers participated in this program, about 300 children got a birthday gifts from the Fund. The plan is organizing the "Day of hope" in these orphanages since January 2002. Once a month on Saturday the kids will get a possibility to associate with volunteers all day long, play games, participate in competitive programs, go to museums and theatres. The end of "Day of hope" is a "Happy birthday" party.

The "Care" program The program is helping needy and poor people who are in a hard situation because of current circumstances of life. About 40 people got help thanks to this program since April 2002.

The program "Victories and achievements" The goal of the program is developing orphan's physical culture, strengthening their health and propagandizing the right way of life between them. The kids are encouraged to participate in sports measures and to improve their own sport achievements. The Fund cooperates with the Department of work with orphans of the Center of physical culture, children's health and preparation of Olympic reserve. The Fund provides with prizes for rewarding of the winners in the competitions, which the Center organizes. The plans of the program include the independent organization of sports actions for orphans. The goal of this program is introducing them to the healthy way of life.

Program of calendar's holiday The Charitable fund HOPE worldwide Saint Petersburg cooperates with the Educational Department in Saint Petersburg in organizing mass parties for orphans. In 2001 collaborators and volunteers of the Fund participated in the organization of the final party for orphans-graduates and the Day of knowledge (September, 1) for 6-10 year old kids from 15 orphanages in Saint Petersburg. Also collaborators and volunteers of the Fund organized holiday discos and big playing programs for children. About 400 orphans took part in these programs. The children got gifts and prizes for participating in competitive programs. The Fund gave 250 school office collections, which were distributed among needy children. The Fund plans the organization of a similar New Year program in the Youth Culture's Palace for 400 kids from 15 orphanages.

Programs for veterans In this year the Fund together with the Municipal department "Rjevka" organized programs for pensioners and veterans of Great Patriotic War. The program "Day of memory" was dedicated to the May 9 holiday - Victory Day. The program "Day of old friends" was dedicated to the day of seniors. Volunteers of the Fund organized holiday concerts, which included performances of veterans. The goal of this program was moral and material support to pensioners and veterans of Great Patriotic War. More than 400 veterans got a Victory Day's gift. Programs were rewarded with thanks letters from department "Rjevka" and veterans who have visited our measures. Establishing the Club-Dining room "Old friend's home" for poor pensioners and veterans of Great Patriotic War in 2002 year is a part of the fund's plans.
